una amplia infraestructura de servicios, Cerro
Catedral es indiscutiblemente sinónimo de la
temporada invernal barilochense.
Refugios estratégicamente ubicados, escuelas de ski
y guarderías, restaurantes y confiterías, hoteles,
locales de venta y alquiler de equipos, y servicios
de transporte que conectan permanentemente con la
ciudad, permiten estallar en coloridas presencias
durante cada temporada, exibiendo la fama de ser el
centro invernal más importante de Sudamérica.
Revelando la más imponente panorámica de la zona
andino-lacustre, sus 2000 hectáreas de laderos
esquiables. Con 70Km de pistas, de las cuales el 30%
son fáciles, el 45% intermedias y el 25% para
expertos, vastos sectores mantenidos en su estado
natural y sus 26 medios de elevación, este
importante centro turístico hace honor a su
renombre, y concentra anualmente la presencia de
competidores nacionales e internacionales, a través
de carreras con puntaje FIS, Campeonatos de
Profesionales y carreras abiertas al público con

sumadas a eventos de diferente naturaleza. Su
especial característica se debe a que el área de
principiantes es única en el mundo debido a sus
ubicaciones, en la base del cerro (900m), en la
mitad del mismo (1200-1400m) y en la cumbre
(1800-2000m) Un programa racional de mantenimiento
de pistas con una flota importante de máquinas
pisanieve, trabajan todas las noches para crear
excelentes condiciones de nieve en toda el área
esquiable.
Pistas de trineos, cursos de snowboard, parapentismo
y clínicas de ski en nieve honda, bumps, slalom,
brindan esparcimiento en horas en que el descanso
impone una actividad diferente.
Otras Propuestas
Entre otras opciones, diversos espacios montañosos
suman nuevas formas de recreación que pasan por
manejar un fourtrack, realizar trekking a través de
blancos senderos, deslizarse en trineos o dedicarse
a la práctica del parapentismo o del snowboard.
En su trayecto corto desde la ciudad, se podrá
alcanzar por ejemplo, el Complejo Invernal de
Piedras Blancas en el Cerro Otto, que ofrece al
turista aerosillas y pistas exclusivas de trineo,
paseos en snowmóvil y un refugio donde degustar
riquísimas tortas caseras.

Cerro
Catedral, with its vast service infrastructure, is
the undoubted epitome of Bariloche’s winter
season.
Strategically situated refuges, ski schools and day
care for children, restaurants and coffee shops,
hotels, ski shops and ski rental, permanent
transport from the city center: all features that
make Cerro Catedral the most important ski resort in
South America.
Cerro Catedral and its 2,000ha-skiing-area , offer a
panoramic view of this lake and mountain region.
This ski resort honors its widely renown name with
its 70 km of slopes, 30% easy, 45% intermediate and
the other 25% for experts. Also vast sections of the
mountain are kept in their natural state. Not to
mention its 25 means of ski lift transportation.
Every year, national and international competitions
that grant FIS points, take place at the center, as
well as Professional Championships, races open to
all public, ski flaps, Free Style, Mountain
Challenges, and other diverse activities. Among the
most remarkable features of Catedral are its unique
beginners’ areas situated at the base(900m),
half-way up (1,200-1,400m) and at the top
(1,800-2,000m). An important snowplows fleet works
each night to keep the resort in perfect conditions
for the following day.
There are also sledges, snowboard schools,
parachuting and ski clinics in deep-snow, bumps and
slalom skiing.
Other options include four-track driving, trekking
along snow-covered paths, sledding, parachuting and
snowboarding.
Closer to the town center is the Piedras Blancas
Winter Complex on Cerro Otto. This resort offers its
visitors ski lifts and slopes, exclusive for
sledding. Also there are snow-mobile outings and a
refuge where to savor delicious home-made cakes, for
tea.
Also on Cerro Otto are the Nordic-ski Center and the
Wolf-Cradle. They offer outings on sledges drawn by
Siberian dogs, four-track drives, snow-mobiles, and
excellent tracks for the practice of Nordic ski.
For more exclusive outings you could choose to visit
the Neumeyer Refuge, an authentic winter experience:
reaching the Refuge along the rubble road that runs
through the Chall Huaco Valley, 1,200 m
above-sea-level. From there a walk on snow rackets,
from the refuge to Laguna Verde or to the
spectacular outlook, high above the valley. You can
also practice Nordic ski, cross-country ski and
sledding.
